that was the opening line - i remembered i bought this book coz of that line thinking how true it was.

i read this book a long time ago..
and till today, im still looking for a book that equivalent to what i felt when i read this one.

it was the most heart-wrenching and the most beautiful book ever written.

ever.
for real.

i lost the book since. im guessing, somebody must've borrowed it and never returned to the rightful owner.

i'm trying to find another copy for years now. Unfortunately, i havent had any luck finding it. arggghhh..

hmmm.. let me google the sypnosis first..

"When Max Tivoli is born in 1871, he looks like miniature old man. Max lives his life backwards, with his body getting progressively younger as he gets older. When Max is 17, but appears 53, he falls in love with Alice, the girl next door. He must wait until he appears younger, and Alice to be older, for this love to be fulfilled. His secret is shared with only two people besides his parents, Alice, and his best friend, Hughie. Alice and Hughie, however, continue to age as he gets younger."

by the way.. at the end of the book, you'll understand why the narrator starts the way he did. at which time, i was not sure whether i should ponder upon the life max had to go through or should i ponder about life itself.

since we are on this topic... i know its abit too early to put such a request - but what the hell right? i would love to have this book under my Xmas wish-list. hard cover. 1st edition.

haha..

anyway - i dunno why but i really - truly - want to read this book. it helped me the last time i read it - somehow in a weird kinda way. kinda need that at the moment. i feel like my life is one big routine that i feel like vomiting blood just thinking about it.
