ok.. here goes..
after about half an hour to 45 minutes of the bumpy boat ride - my butt taking most of its toll against that hopeless cushion made of fishing net which barely gave us the much much needed comfort..
[and yet i can still smile when the camera pointed at me..
of course..]
we finally reached Pulau Sembilan..
:)
yay!!!
i loved the boatride.. dont get me wrong.. especially when it goes on full speed - against the current and the waves..
(yes... thank you boat.. u make my butt flat for a while there.. )
it feels like we were literally flying..
until my butt touches the board..
then - its more like.....
owwww
owwwwww
owwwwwww!!!
apa lagi...
moving on...
the name Pulau 9 is self explanatory.. there are 9 islands close together.. but with different-different names.. see picture-lah..some of it are just rock.. with no beaches at all..
me assuming we were at Pulau Rumbia.. but im not so sure about that part tho..
i forgot to ask.. can u believe that??
the thing about Pulau Sembilan is that it is not developed yet.. not even developing.. or anything close..
me think the islands (tho we only went to one of it - but can tell one!!!) are totally abandoned..
people came here for camping, i was told. there used to be a toilet.. but now, all that was left are the walls.. there are no doors.. no roof..
it cringes me everytime i think about it..
even the man-made-just-hole-only toilet like the one in Slumdog Millionaire is by far acceptable - for me at least.. coz i personally wouldnt even want to get close to the toilet at P9 to see whats left of it..
i dun have that strong heart to go nearer to take pictures of it..
and that definitely make me drink less and eat even lesser.
which is - come to think of it - a good diet regime.
but not something i would want to stick to on a regular basis..
other than the toilet issue.. there is a possibility of this islands being more beautiful than it already is..
IF only..
big IF there..
if such thing ever happened.. then, it would be one of those tourist destination..
too bad eugene...
--- see the kanak2 will definitely love this place..
if u plan to camp here.. make sure u r not afraid of ghost.. not that i heard any stories or encounter any 'X-file'. shit when i was there...
its just that.. it is nothing - and i do mean - n.o.t.h.i.n.g. - like pulau manukan/ mamutik/ sapi..
this could be giligan's island for all u know.
--- see what i mean by abandoned island.. sampai got cobweb bah..
and u need to also take into consideration the fact that you would need to do your #1 in the sea
and #2 - anywhere else..
dig a hole or something - just make sure u r not within anyone's eyeshot..
my friend said there used to be a waterfall there.. but the boatman said.. all rosak already lor.. of course i didnt ask for more details.. coz now im thinking - how could waterfall rosak?? so.. i didnt even go and check it out..
no point if rosak already mah..
around 3pm.. some of them went to the middle of the sea to do the fishing bit...
i chose to stay behind and snorkled for hours...
yes!! im that lazy..
:)
and.... i dun think i can take more of the killing-the-butt part..
anyways..
for the record...
not like im trying to intentionally gross you out here.. but i think... i THINK...... everybody is doing it anyway...
pssttt.... i did li'l bit of #1 while i was snorkeling..
hahhaha..
is that considered polluting mother nature???
but lucky for me.. there was no. #2 attack..
muahhahaha...
u can take my word.. memang dun have..
we snorkled for hours even if there's nothing to see there.. my new mask working just fine.. and im loving it..
suddenly, i cant wait to go back to KK and snorkle at manukan.. argghhhh...
[*mental note: post MANUKAN blog.. its in the draft somewhere.....]
i didnt even try to go at the deeper end..
kinda scared..
im not sure why tho..
its abit scary when my feet cant touch the ground.. even if i can float just fine..
still - i get abit panicky..
maybe its the strong (kinda!!) wave..
or maybe coz i saw ONE jelly fish and i had to swim off like madwoman (of course im exagerating abit there)
and maybe i kept on swimming against the current... and not moving even abit..
or maybe im just starting to becoming friendly with the sea..
truthfully, im not really a sea person..
i can appreciate the mountains more than the sea or the ocean.. thats why i always envision myself retiring someplace at kundasang... or scotland.. or ireland..
hmmmm....
anyways....
around 6pm or abit later than that.. we said our goodbye to the island im starting to get used to..
im 10x darker by then..
and its the part that i have to deal with for now.. coz it will take a while before my skin turns back to normal..
not so fair.. but not too dark..
so long.. goodbye..
hopefully, the next time i visit P9 again.. it'll be developed into a resort..
:)
over and out.
