From Ai8 to Something to Nothing.

to tell u the truth.. i've had enough of the audition week..
i found my favourites.. so far so good.
and it wouldnt make any sense if i have - say... 15 favourites now - kan??

i'd say - bring us hollywood!!!!
arggghhh..

another 3 auditions to go through..
so.. thats one good thing. just another week to bear all these people who cant sing to save their life - but think they can..

then.. its hollywood baby!!!
.

that said..

on a totally different topic -

one thing i learned from the idol auditions is that the american parents are just super-duper-out-of-this-world-very-very-over-the-top supportive of their children - no matter what..

and the key word here is: N.O. M.A.T.T.E.R. W.H.A.T.

its ok if their kids are really talented - even i would shed a tear or two.. but some are just unbelievably oh-my-goodness-(are-they-for-real?)-none-nothing-acceptable to the hearing department...

some actually really believed they are born to do this (sing)..
really??
have they no ears???
like.. at all??

if i were to tell my parents or any of my siblings that i am going for the audition - "and by the way please support me..." i think they'll cry!!! not out of happiness or pride or anything of that sort... they'll do everything in their power to stop me.. they'll tie me to that tree full of ants if they had too..

so, my point is (***second finger up pointing no where in particular***) - our parents are not as super-duper-out-of-this-world-very-very-over-the-top supportive as those in States.

they somehow know where to put the line between supporting us in doing what we can do.. and what we should do..

at most.. they'll be proud of you in the end (though u'll never get to hear it - not in so many words) when u prove them wrong and achieve that - whatever that thing was..

but before achieving that..

there will be alot of..
'blah blah blah.. blah blah blah.. can u?? blah blah.. should you??.. blah blah.. maybe u should??... blah blah blah.. are u sure?? blah blah blah.. why waste money?? blah blah blah.. change course?? blah blah blah..'

im not trying to be rude by saying the 'blah-s' part.. coz.. i love my parents more than life itself (also i cant remember what was it already...) - and i love the whole K'clan - no matter how weird (and yes.. how strongly opinionated) they seem to be.

hah!!!

we were all brought up knowing that we can do just about anything we want - we choose our own path.. as long as we are doing something.. it doesnt have to be great.. but it has to be something that make sense..

like for example: astronaut.. well.. that doesnt make sense-kan..

and u have to get ready all the possible and the not-so-possible-but-just-in-case answers before u can ask for that privilege.. privilege of being accepted of who u are and who u wanna be.. and if u can get through that.. u'll get what u want..

during my time.. after SPM.. at first i told dad..
-- in a nutshell and conversation might differs from real life.. and shorter ;)
SK : "Di.. i want to do architecture.."
DAD: "Kau pandai lukis meh??"
MUM: "ada duit kai tu??"
DAD: "Ko ingat satu lukisan brapa tu?? Mahal tu."
MUM: "iya kannn.."
DAD: "Ko pandai maths ka?"
damn..

few months later..
SK : "Di.. i'm taking law.."
DAD: "Ko pandai cakap meh?"
SK : "Ala.. sinang ja bah tu.."
thats the thing with the parents here.. u need to prove them wrong.. and then, they will believe u. they will be there somehow throughout the whole journey where u think u have chosen the wrong path and yet, hearing 'i told u so' is the last thing u want to hear..

but motivational wise.. its mostly self-motivation.. and it helps if u have alot of siblings.. where u also want what the others get.

siblings are there to give u the pressure.. to make u think 100 times whether or not u made the right choice.. 'blah blah blah.. dont waste time.. blah blah blah.. dont waste money... blah blah blah.. this is your future.. blah blah blah.. what u gonna do?? blah blah blah...'

and if u use it wisely.. from whatever blah-s u heard from your parents and your siblings.. believe me - since i've been there.. it is those blah-s that really push u and make u even more determined and finally reaching that end of that long fight.

but if u take it the hard way.. just to make a point and proving them right - then.. well, its not their fight. so.. nobody wins.

and i still dont think there's alot of self-satisfaction in saying this to those who blah-s to u, "now u satisfied?? u r right afterall"

what im trying to say here is that.. ultimately, it is up to u to do whatever u want to do. it is up to u to start that journey where u want your life to lead u to.. at least - a general idea will do..

if u think people are putting u down due to the wrong choice(s) u made.. take it as a challenge.. that u can do it. that the mistake can still be corrected. (if its wrong-lah)

like i said.. as long as it make sense.

and somehow, only u yourself will know whether it makes sense or whether u are just trying to be somebody u're not.

damn..

that is too much blah-ing..

but u do get the point, right????
